Cardiovascular Associates of Central Virginia

The doctor’s group of Cardiology Associates of Central Virginia came to Cornerstone Architects with a very common problem. After years of practicing in their own building, the group had been forced to expand into their dark basement. As the group continued to grow, their need for space also increased. They debated whether to buy, build, or lease. After much discussion they came to us and said they wanted to build a building celebrating light.

Cornerstone Architects designed large windows allowing natural light to flood in as well as connect the practice and its patients to the natural environment.

Light Features:

  • Diffused north natural light window wall in the waiting room.
  • Glass block floor in main concourse to allow light into basement.
  • Skylights over centralized nurse stations in grouped pods.
