Patient Ward Renovation & Expansion

19,000 SF renovation of an existing non-clinical, fourth-floor space into a 30-bed step-down patient ward (nursing unit); and a 4,000 SF expansion roof level expansion for patient-staff lounge and multi-purpose conference room. Designed with Planetree inspired concepts, the new patient ward will have a refreshingly new feeling and appearance, in order to create a true space for healing. Items featured in the design include- increased natural light via skylights and clerestory windows; water feature; meditation room; natural color and material finishes; private patient rooms with private baths; family areas in each patient room; “front porch” design to each patient room with bench; decentralized nursing station; four (4) isolation patient rooms with ante rooms; inboard ward family lounge with 20’ ceilings; energy effecient general, task and accent lighting; and renovation -wide replacement and upgrade of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems.
